Water Cost Reduction for Hammersmith & Fulham Council
Having been approached by HMRC, consultants H²0 proceeded with a 6 year water audit, upon completion, it was discovered United Utilities, the water supplier for the North West, was charging HMRC some £36,000 per year too much for surface water highways drainage charges. H²0 then submitted a claim to the Water Company for reduced charges going forward and a refund of overcharges going forward, the claim was successful producing a refund of £220,000 and on-going savings of £36,000 per year, in addition, H²0 also submitted a claim for an interest and compensation payment which was approved by the Water Company resulting in a further £20,000 for HMRC.
