Public Sector refunds due to water companies overcharging.

Friday, January 15th, 2010

H²O has once again produced significant refunds on water and waste water accounts for various Public Sector organisations.

Billing errors are being identified with increased frequency, and only audits carried out by our experienced staff  are identifying the issues, here are a few recent examples.

Ordnance Survey – 1 office savings of £ 130,000pa identified because of a long running water leak, potential refund £ 100,000.

Health and Safety Executive – refund £ 220,000.

Hammersmith and Fulham Council – 2 sites £ 175,000 refund.

Manchester University – Refunds of £ 500,000 plus £ 100,000 per annum on going savings.

Over £1m in cash refunds!!

These are in our opinion serious financial errors, our research indicates the Public Sector spend an estimated £ 700m on water charges and we are of the opinion we could reduce these charges saving an estimated £ 145m not taking into consideration refunds due to historical billing errors.
