The English water retail market shocked by recent announcement.

The English water retail market has been shocked by the recent announcement that Thames Water is to exit the business water retail market!

A Scottish based company Caste Water Ltd will take over Thames Water Business customer retail activities and will commence the transfer of business customers water billing from Autumn onwards.

Acquisition of Thames Water retail and Portsmouth water could be a step too far for a small young company such as Castle Water Ltd, formed April 17th 2014.

There will surely be concerns discussed within the water industry, particularly between other larger more established water companies to allow this to go through under these conditions which could not be in the best interests of business customers for sure.

For Castle Water to state ” We are excited about the opportunity to provide retail services to business customers in Thames Water’s area, building on our experience” 2 years in the water industry!
