H20 Building Services drive down water bills in the Leisure industry – water leak detection case study

H20 Building Services were asked to provide water and waste water cost reduction services for a large holiday park in the north west.

As part of the water strategy which was drawn up and presented to the client H20 Building Services installed water flow data loggers to the 2 incoming water company supply meters in order to produce daily and overnight visual water flow profiles.

AMR water flow data logging is a key vital component within the water management strategy and will assist H20 Building Services in achieving and maximising the potential water and waste water savings across the leisure park.

Initial water flow audit – after a month or so the water flow data was downloaded to the water flow online platform and the constant daily and overnight base load was calculated at 5.3 cubic metres per hour or 1,166 gallons per hour. This constant flow of water cost the business a staggering £61,000 a year that’s £61,000 wiped right off the profits of the business.

H20 Building Services reported the results of the water audit to the client together with a recommendation to carry out a comprehensive water leakage investigation survey to identify the reason for the constant water flow, produce a detailed written report containing background survey information, leakage survey activities and a summary and recommendations.
