Creating a national water supply firm The Alternative Water Company is a dream come true – We have done it!

The Alternative Water Company – our very first alternative water supply project is now on its way to delivery saving in excess of £100,000 on their water bill, and I cannot describe the feeling of excitement having conceived the idea in 1998!

I was carrying out a water cost reduction project for the prison service in the South of England, they were using 170,000m3 of water a year but water was so cheap then and way down the list of importance in terms of annual costs, so my alternative water supply recommendation fell on deaf ears and this went no further.

Move forward 19 years and water supply prices increasing year on year, public and private sector finances being squeezed, environmental issues and now water deregulation this is the perfect combination for an “off grid water supply” business The Alternative Water Company, working in partnership with “The Water Audit Experts” H20 Building Services.

It has been an exciting 19 years learning, applying engineering and consultancy skills and applying solutions to reducing customers water and waste water costs, but now armed with knowledge and expertise gained over the years and supported by a dedicated team of water industry experts we have put together a national water supply services product that many said: –
