Water leak alert report issued for an £8,000 water leak – case study

The off site water leak monitoring system flagged up a water leak for one of the Tata Steels sites, the system was installed a few months ago and at the time water leakage was zero. Had the water flow monitoring system not been fitted the next water bill would have been £3,000 over budget.

The water leak consumption is at nearly 2,000 gallons per day.

A visual water flow profile report was issued to the site for client approval to instruct the water audit experts at H20  Building Services to dispatch engineers to attend site to detect and repair the water leak.

Visual flow data is a key tool in the water management consultants armory, the system is fitted to the water companies water meter, For each unit of water recorded on the meter dial a magnetic pulse is generated, the pulse is stored in the systems electronic memory and at a pre-set time each day the data is sent via the mobile phone network to a data platform.
