Case Study - THORNTONS
Thornton’s chocolate factory in Derby reported high water consumption issues. We were brought in to carry out extensive water leak detection to all below ground water supply pipes and valves. Our water leak detection team arrived in site, measured the water flow rate on the main Severn Trent Water meter and calculated the water leak to be 5m3 per hour, equating to 43,800m3 per annum. The team, using site drawings, traced out the water supply pipes, and using acoustic techniques soon identified two water leaks – one on a main water isolation valve and one on a joint on the plastic main.
Annual water savings £100,000.
