Over the years, H2O has perfected a tried and tested formula for turning intelligence about your water usage into real benefits for your bottom line. We have used this approach to help thousands of companies large and small make significant cost savings on their water and sewerage charges.
Our six-step service process works as follows:
1. Send in your water bills
To start with, we ask all clients to send us all water bills received in the past 12 months. For companies which operate multiple sites, we need bills for each site and from every supplier.
2. Water bill analysis
Details from all water bills are transferred onto a database, which allows us to analyse precise details of what clients are being charged for, and build up a clear map of expenditure. At this stage, we will also send clients a questionnaire asking them to provide key details about their on-site water usage.
3. Water audit
Once we have analysed a client’s water bills and received feedback about their water use, we can then compare the two to carry out a desktop water audit. This is often enough to:
- Identify areas where potential cost savings could be made
- Highlight any errors made in billing, including grounds for requesting a refund
- Make recommendations for reducing water usage and costs on site.
For multi-site companies, a separate audit will be sent for each site, indicating the costs and fees for going ahead with our recommendations.
If the client agrees to the proposals set out in the desktop audit, we will then carry out a full site survey at each relevant site. This will be followed by a more in-depth written report confirming areas where improvements in water use can be made, recommended action, full costings, timescales for delivery and expected payback period. Once this is approved, we will carry out the necessary work at each site.
5. Water bill validation
Once we finish work to improve water efficiency and reduce usage, we do not walk away. We continue to work on our client’s behalf validating water bills on an ongoing basis to make sure charges are levied correctly to reflect changes in use. We also provide bureau services to secure any outstanding refunds owed to our clients for overcharging.
Finally, cost savings and refunds are delivered to the client. On most projects we undertake, clients get full payback on any charges or fees paid to us within 9 to 12 months.
